Vision
At CCSI we see ourselves giving leadership to an international *para-university movement. The twentieth century saw the emergence of the para-church movement, in which new organizations such as InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, The Navigators, Young
Life and Campus Crusade for Christ, came alongside the church to
help it fulfill its mission in the world. We believe that the time is
now right, in the twenty-first century, for the development of
Christian study centers alongside universities as a presence and voice
for Christ in the academic community. Although the contemporary
university no longer sees its historic charter as a Christian institution
as binding or even relevant, we believe in engaging the university
community in thoughtful, credible and winsome ways, and, in so
doing, gaining an audience for the Christian worldview in the contemporary
marketplace of ideas. We believe further that if God grants
success in this endeavor, it will have “ripple effects” of cultural
transformation throughout the world.
